Six New Characters and Roles
Meet six new characters and explore six optional roles in VOICES LIE.
New characters
Helen Pryce · Xu Zhou · Ines Duarte · Victor Serra · Mara Voss · Julian Shaw
New roles
Notary · Ticket Clerk · Night Guard · Auditor · Forger · Fixer
Add these optional roles in custom room settings. Existing preset lineups are unchanged.
Clearer skill results
Some skill results appear immediately, while others are revealed at dawn. A three-second pause gives players time to read each newly shown result. Private results remain visible only to their intended recipients.
Network Stability Fixes
- Fixed cases where a brief freeze could cause an unnecessary disconnection
- Added a recovery notice when the host is not responding. New match actions pause during recovery while the current match stays on screen
- Outdated voice audio is now discarded after a freeze to reduce delayed speech
Clearer Match Information
- The top bar now groups the current phase, countdown, cycle progress and player status.
- The central paper shows the next speaker when one is scheduled and keeps up to three recent public results, labelled by Day or Night.
- Added visual marks for vote eliminations, peaceful Nights and Nights with eliminations.
- Microphone warnings now appear beside your avatar, with a shortcut to Voice settings.
- Fixed an issue where some ability results from later Days were labelled Day 1.
Room Management and Returning to Matches
This update adds room management controls and makes it easier to return to an ongoing match after a synchronization failure.
- Custom-room hosts can now remove other players while waiting. Removed players can join again after 5 seconds.
- Added removal notices for the affected player and the remaining room members, plus a clear message when a rejoin is attempted too soon.
- Added Return to Match to the main menu after a synchronization failure ends your room connection. It lets you rejoin the original room and resume your seat while that match is still in progress.
- Improved Steam room connection startup.
- Long notices now wrap and expand to show their full text.
- Updated the hover and pressed states of the microphone, speaker and remove controls on room player cards.
Voice Chat and Status Bar Fixes
This small patch fixes voice chat and makes Match voice status messages clearer.
- Fixed voice chat during Free Discussion and voice-state handling in silent phases.
- Eliminated players now see “Only living players can talk” during Free Discussion instead of the current-speaker-only message.
- Voice and microphone messages now fit the Match status bar in all 14 supported languages, in both open-mic and push-to-talk modes.
- Changed the self-mute button to a microphone icon.
New Characters and Character Profiles Update
The update is now available on Windows and macOS.
- Added Chen Dai, Maeve Finch and Ellis Ward.
- Added optional Field Medic and Press Photographer roles for custom Rooms.
- Redesigned Character Profiles with category filters, pagination and an expanded portrait-and-dossier view.
- Added clear rescue results and private investigation notes.
- Updated localized role instructions, Room rules and mute-button feedback.

Interface and Audio
